Centralia is a perfect 5-0 against Triad since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Centralia Orphans will square off against the Triad Knights at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centralia comes in on five and Triad on seven.

Centralia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East St. Louis, sneaking past 46-43. Given the Orphans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Flyers are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Triad didn't have too much trouble with Mt. Vernon on Tuesday as they won 43-27.

Triad's win bumped their record up to 28-6. As for Centralia, they pushed their record up to 29-4 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home.

Centralia was able to grind out a solid win over Triad in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 51-39. Will Centralia repeat their success, or does Triad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
