Volleyball Recap: Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Titans on Wednesday. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lodi Academy. If Aspire Langston Hughes Academy was looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to Lodi Academy when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Lodi Academy was led to victory by Cedric Johnson and Han Rocky. Johnson had 19 digs and five aces, while Rocky had 12 digs.

Aspire Langston Hughes Academy's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lodi Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy will face off against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lodi Academy, they will head out to face off against Vanguard College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
