Softball Recap: Newark Memorial Comes Up Short

Newark Memorial lost against Alameda back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Newark Memorial Cougars lost 9-1 to the Alameda Hornets.

Newark Memorial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyvia Costa, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Newark Memorial's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Alameda, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Newark Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 29-0 win against Hayward on the 11th. As for Alameda, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-0 victory against San Rafael on the 11th.
