Baseball Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Midd-West extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lewisburg Green Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since April 4th.

Derek Keister made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Lewisburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Lewisburg's side, they let Landen Wagner and Cohen Hoover run wild. Wagner got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hoover went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most runs Wagner has posted since back in April.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midd-West will take on Jersey Shore at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewisburg, they will head out to face off against Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
