There's no place like home for Mary G. Montgomery, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Spanish Fort Toros on Tuesday as Mary G. Montgomery made off with an 8-2 win. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Toros back in February, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Malena Simonson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mary G. Montgomery let Gracie Coleman and Ava Gradick run wild. Coleman scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Gradick scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most hits Coleman has posted since back in February. Hannah Fenner was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Mary G. Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Spanish Fort, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mary G. Montgomery will square off against Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spanish Fort, they will challenge Gulf Shores at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
