The Northeast has a new No. 1 team, but that's the only change among the top squads in this week's MaxPreps High School Football Regional Rankings.

St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) takes over at No. 1 in the Northeast after Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) fell to St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio). Bergen Catholic fell to No. 3 after its second straight loss.

St. Edward almost became another new No. 1, but it remains 0.3 points behind No. 1 La Salle (Cincinnati) in the Midwest.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country was broken down into five regions:

West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska, and Montana.

Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
