Basketball Recap: Schley County Comes Up Short

Schley County and Bowdon squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Schley County had to settle for second. They fell to the Bowdon Red Devils 53-48. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Schley County lost, don't look at Payton Goodin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 boards. Those 25 points gave Goodin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamesen Hollomon, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Schley County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Bowdon, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Schley County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bowdon, they will square off against Telfair County on Friday. Telfair County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
