Softball Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton managed to slip by East Peoria the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Little Giants came up short against the Raiders on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Little Giants were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for East Peoria, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10.

Canton and East Peoria could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Little Giants (ranked 74th) will meet Washington (ranked sixth) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, East Peoria will challenge Dunlap at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (53 vs. 8).
