Basketball Recap: Evansville Harrison Takes a Loss

Evansville Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Corydon Central Panthers, falling 55-29. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Panthers are ranked 28th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corydon Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reese Withers, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Vaughn, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and five assists.

Evansville Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Corydon Central, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Evansville Harrison will take on New Albany at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. New Albany knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Evansville Harrison likes a good challenge. As for Corydon Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-37 victory against Evansville Christian on the 27th.
