Softball Game Preview: Burkburnett Bulldogs vs. Springtown Porcupines

The Burkburnett Bulldogs will take on the Springtown Porcupines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Burkburnett is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Eagle Mountain just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Delaney Reitz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Meanwhile, Springtown never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They skirted past Eagle Mountain 1-0.

Springtown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Fagan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Fagan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Springtown is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. Burkburnett's loss dropped their record down to 10-16.
