Baseball Recap: Pana Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Pana barely beat Vandalia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Vandals on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three games in a row.

Madyx Angel was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three doubles. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Malisia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pana kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.2.

Pana's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vandalia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Pana will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vandals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
