Basketball Game Preview: Avon Pirates vs. Scotland/Menno Trappers

The Avon Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Scotland/Menno Trappers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses for Avon and four for Scotland/Menno.

Avon lost 64-39 to Freeman on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Flyers are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, Scotland/Menno lost to Wagner at home by a 64-48 margin on Thursday.

Avon will have to contain Izayah Ulmer as he made an impact in Scotland/Menno's last game. He posted 13 points. Trent Guthmiller was another key player, putting up six points.

Avon's record now sits at 1-12. As for Scotland/Menno, their record is now 2-10.
