Soccer Game Preview: Woodlawn-B.R. vs. Dunham

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Woodlawn-B.R. face off against the Dunham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday... Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Woodlawn-B.R.'s offense. They came up short against Baton Rouge on Friday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Bulldogs are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Dunham's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 7-1 to Episcopal.

Woodlawn-B.R. has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6-1 record this season. As for Dunham, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Woodlawn-B.R. took their victory against Dunham when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodlawn-B.R. since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
