Basketball Recap: Itawamba Agricultural Comes Up Short

Itawamba Agricultural lost against Saltillo back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians took a blow against the Tigers, falling 62-32. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Itawamba Agricultural still got an impressive performance from Calon Shumpert, who went 7-for-16 en route to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Lennox White was a one-man wrecking crew For Saltillo. as he shot 57% from the field on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those 17 points gave White a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Foster, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Itawamba Agricultural now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Itawamba Agricultural will square off against Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saltillo, they will face off against Nettleton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
