Softball Recap: Chilton County Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Chilton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Calera Eagles 11-3 on Saturday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Kaylee Dunn made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macey Pierce, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Avree Williams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Chilton County pushed their record up to 30-8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Calera, their loss dropped their record down to 10-20.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chilton County beat the Eagles by a score of 8-0 later that day.
