Soccer Game Preview: Purvis vs. East Central

Purvis hasn't had much luck against East Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Purvis Tornadoes will be home for the holidays to greet the East Central Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Purvis' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Greene County 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Meanwhile, East Central came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Hornets' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

East Central's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five games. As for Purvis, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
