Softball Recap: Penn Yan Academy Takes a Loss

Penn Yan Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Waterloo Tigers, falling 23-3. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Penn Yan Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Waterloo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Penn Yan Academy will host Clyde-Savannah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.13 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Waterloo will be paying especially close attention to Penn Yan Academy's contest: after Penn Yan Academy faces off against Clyde-Savannah, they'll take on Waterloo again at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
