Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Orangeburg-Wilkinson

If Battery Creek wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they should've done a better job of containing Jordan McGahee. The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins blew past the Battery Creek Dolphins 56-32 on Friday thanks in part to McGahee, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Keith Smith, who posted nine points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Battery Creek's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Micheal Williams, who scored 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Ethan Cox, who had 13 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Orangeburg-Wilkinson and bumps their season record up to 16-5. As for Battery Creek, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hanahan the next time they take the court. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will head out to face Hanahan at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Battery Creek will head out to face them at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
