Baseball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Takes a Loss

Vinton-Shellsburg lost to Independence back in June of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost 14-2 to the Mustangs. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Independence, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat Vinton-Shellsburg by a score of 10-0 later that day.
