Baseball Recap: Linn Wildcats vs. Owensville Dutchmen
Linn lost a close one when they played last Wednesday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Monday was a bit more commanding. They lost 15-5 to the Owensville Dutchmen. Linn was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Owensville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
Curtis Deeken was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Tanner Hackmann, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
On Owensville's side, Elias Medlock looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Owensville let Zaiden Gates and Landon Kramme loose on the outfield. Gates scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Kramme scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Gates has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
