Soccer Game Preview: Marysville vs. Lincoln

The Marysville Indians will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Marysville will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Marysville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mira Loma on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Matadors.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was able to grind out a solid victory over Wheatland on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The Fighting Zebras' winning goal came courtesy of Arturo Fuentes.

Lincoln used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Wheatland. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Benjamin Sanabia (35), Isaac Guzman (70), and Julian Ramirez (65). The trio had averaged 16, 42.1, and 42.9 minutes respectively before Tuesday's matchup. Ramirez made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five games. As for Marysville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
