Recap: Archer Tigers vs. Grayson Rams
The Archer Tigers entered their tilt with the Grayson Rams with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Archer was outmatched by Grayson at home and fell 41-14. Archer has struggled against Grayson recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Archer saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Do rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 252 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 85 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Do.
Even if they lost, Archer's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Trent Mapp.
Grayson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Elder out in front who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Elder really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Jeff Davis was another key contributor, throwing for 239 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes.
Archer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Grayson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Archer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grayson also has no future games currently scheduled.
