Baseball Recap: Warrior Run Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Columbia Area, Warrior Run was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the South Williamsport Mountaineers by a score of 4-1. This was payback for the Defenders, who suffered a 13-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Stone Allison, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Zechman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Warrior Run pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for South Williamsport, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warrior Run will challenge Loyalsock Township at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Williamsport, they will square off against Hanover Area at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mountaineers are facing the Hawkeyes at the right time seeing as the Hawkeyes are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
