Basketball Preview: North Callaway Thunderbirds vs. Hallsville Indians
North Callaway hasn't had much luck against Hallsville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The North Callaway Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to face off against the Hallsville Indians at 7:30 p.m. North Callaway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
North Callaway is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Louisiana: they outscored them in every quarter. The stars were shining brightly for North Callaway in a 75-59 victory over Louisiana last Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Thunderbirds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jamarion Glover was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Blevins, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.
North Callaway was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hallsville made easy work of South Shelby on Friday and carried off a 73-47 victory. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.
The win made it two in a row for Hallsville and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for North Callaway, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
