Baseball Recap: Watsonville Comes Up Short

Watsonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 4-1 to the Alisal Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Watsonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Lara, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Watsonville's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Alisal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Watsonville will head out to take on Everett Alvarez at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Everett Alvarez has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something Watsonville will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alisal, they will host Gilroy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
