Basketball Recap: Bellaire Has No Trouble Against Ridgewood

With a playoff win on the line, Bellaire rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They took down the Ridgewood Generals 54-40. 54 seems to be a good number for the Big Reds as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Zara Harveth was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-15 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bellaire's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Edgar, who posted nine points and three steals.

Bellaire pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Ridgewood, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Coming up, Bellaire will challenge Fort Frye at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Frye will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bellaire surely won't give up without a fight. Ridgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
