Woodbridge and Portola are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Woodbridge Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Portola Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Woodbridge is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Woodbridge came up short against St. Margaret's and fell 3-1.

Woodbridge was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made St. Margaret's work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Portola unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Sage Hill. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lightning 25-17 in the first set.

While Portola ultimately came up short, they really made Sage Hill work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 17-25, 28-26, 25-18, 25-18.

Portola's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Woodbridge, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-5.

Woodbridge couldn't quite get it done against Portola when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Woodbridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
