Football Recap: Landon Sveda Key Part of Team Effort in Bearcats Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 36-28 win over the Red Hill Salukis. This was payback for the Bearcats, who suffered a 39-12 loss the last time these two teams met.

Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Sveda, who threw for 173 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Sveda a new career-high in passer rating (158.6). Hunter Hammonds was in the mix too, providing Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton with two touchdowns.

The victory got Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton back to even at 3-3. As for Red Hill, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.
