Baseball Game Preview: Tonopah Muckers vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

The Tonopah Muckers will venture away from home to face off against the Lone Pine Golden Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Tonopah got the win against Mountain View Christian by a conclusive 17-1. Considering the Muckers have won five games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tonopah got a massive performance out of Brekken Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Miller is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Levi Harhay, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

Tonopah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Lone Pine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 11-3.

Tonopah pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Lone Pine, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
