            Softball Recap: Castilleja Gators vs. Harker Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Castilleja had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Harker Eagles  10-8. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Gators as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Raina Kapadia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Kapadia was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-5.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Katherine Cheng, who  scored a  run and  stole  Four bases. while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  stolen bases. Another player making a difference was  Claire Pettit, who  went 1-for-5 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castilleja will challenge Design Tech at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Harker, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will  take on  Cupertino  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Cupertino has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine  runs per game on average), something Harker will no doubt try to take advantage of.
