Volleyball Game Preview: John Jay Patriots vs. Brewster Bears

The John Jay Patriots will face off against the Brewster Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

John Jay is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mount Academy just ended the team's ten-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The shutout was out of character for the Patriots seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Meanwhile, Brewster lost 3-0 to Mahopac on Wednesday. The Bears have struggled against the Wolf Pac recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-14.

John Jay's loss dropped their record down to 22-4-1. As for Brewster, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went John Jay's way against Brewster when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as John Jay made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
