Recap: Legend Titans vs. Frederick Golden Eagles
The Legend Titans put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Frederick 74-36 on the road. The result was nothing new for Legend, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Legend's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Stanley, who scored 11 points along with nine assists and six steals. That's the first time this season that Stanley posted eight or more assists. Ava Gavi was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five steals.
Frederick's loss came despite strong showings from Zoe Wittler and Peyton Pack. Wittler scored 14 points, while Pack scored 14 points. The game was Pack's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Frederick struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Legend's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Frederick, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legend and Lutheran will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Legend is ranked second). As for Frederick, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fort Morgan at 5:30 p.m. Allowing an average of 62.5 points per game, Fort Morgan has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup.
