Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Eric Rojas Martell and Joshua Jimenez Lead Dunnellon to Victory

Dunnellon hadn't done well against North Marion recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Colts by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Colts back in March, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Dunnellon was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23.

Dunnellon was led to victory by Joshua Jimenez and Eric Rojas Martell. Jimenez had eight digs and five aces, while Rojas Martell had ten digs. Rojas Martell has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played. Mason Beste also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Dunnellon pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Marion, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Dunnellon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Belleview on the 23rd. As for North Marion, they will take on Vanguard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
