Softball Game Preview: Carmel Padres vs. San Lorenzo Valley Cougars

The Carmel Padres will take on the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Carmel managed to slip by Aptos the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Carmel lost 15-5 to Aptos on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Padres have suffered since March 16, 2024.

Carmel saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Beals, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kristen Mastin was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for San Lorenzo Valley, as they earned their first road win of the season. They put the hurt on North Monterey County with a sharp 19-4 victory on Tuesday. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carmel fell to 2-1. As for San Lorenzo Valley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
