Baseball Recap: Los Gatos Extends Road Winning Streak to 19

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Gatos). Everything went their way against the Milpitas Trojans on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

Chase Oberthier looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jayden Thomas was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Will Temple was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Los Gatos hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Los Gatos' win was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Milpitas, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Los Gatos will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
