Preview: Sacred Heart Academy Irish vs. Marion Eagles
The Sacred Heart Academy Irish will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Marion Eagles. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Sacred Heart Academy never let their opponents score. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over Au Gres-Sims.
Meanwhile, Marion put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 64-14 win over All Saints Central at home. Given Marion's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while All Saints Central is ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Meyer, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Meyer's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Prielipp , who gained 130 total yards and three touchdowns.
Sacred Heart Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Marion, their victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
