 Plainedge is 8-2 against Wantagh since June of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Plainedge Red Devils will head out on the road to  square off against  the Wantagh Warriors at 10:00  a.m.
 Plainedge's hitters might be in the hot seat  on Monday considering what happened against Episcopal Academy  back in March. They took  a  3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Churchmen. Plainedge has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Meanwhile, Wantagh came tearing into  Wednesday's  contest with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  an   11-8  win over the Spartans.
  William Windisch looked comfortable as he  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits.
 At the plate,  AJ Bardi and  Jack Tate did most of the damage at the plate:  Bardi  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while  Tate  went 2-for-5 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Tom Wunderlich was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI, a  run,  and a  double.
 Plainedge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wantagh, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-1-1 record  this season.
 Plainedge skirted past Wantagh  5-4 when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plainedge since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
