Soccer Recap: Julian Takes a Loss

The matchup between Julian and Palo Verde Valley on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles came up short against the Yellow Jackets, falling 16-3. The loss continues a trend for Julian in their meetings with Palo Verde Valley: they've now lost four in a row.

Eric Gonzalez and Temet Borello scored all three of Julian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Julian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Palo Verde Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Julian will venture away from home to challenge Borrego Springs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Julian will be up against Borrego Springs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.43 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Palo Verde Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Somerton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
