Soccer Recap: Lake Weir Comes Up Short

Lake Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunnellon Tigers. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Lake Weir's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Dunnellon, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 1-7-1 record.

Lake Weir will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025. Dunnellon also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against Branford at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
