Softball Recap: South Bison vs. Rock Springs TIGERS
South extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They came up short against the Rock Springs TIGERS, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the TIGERS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on April 5th.
As for Rock Springs, their record is now 6-11-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Rock Springs' part, Rilynn Wester made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Wester has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Kyndall Turnwall was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Flores also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 0-0 tie on Friday.
