Football Game Preview: Bear River Bears vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves + Official Tickets

The Bear River Bears will head out on the road to take on the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Thursday, Bear River took a blow against Ridgeline, falling 69-10. The Bears have struggled against the Riverhawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Glaiden Behrens, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Timpanogos played a tough contest two weeks ago in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 30-2 loss at the hands of Park City. The Timberwolves were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Even if they lost, Timpanogos' defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Stockton Sondrup was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 3.5 himself. Jesse King was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Timpanogos, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Bear River didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Timpanogos in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 23-17 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
