Soccer Game Preview: Newberry vs. Fox Creek

The Newberry Bulldogs will face off against the Fox Creek Predators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Newberry comes in on five and Fox Creek on three.

Newberry's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Silver Bluff 5-0. Give Newberry's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit Silver Bluff with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angel Plascencia (2), Jose Gomez (2), and Adiel Benitez.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Fox Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They beat Ridge Spring-Monetta by a goal, winning 4-3. That's two games straight that Fox Creek have won by just one goal.

Newberry pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. As for Fox Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
