Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Healthy vs. Deer Park

The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls will head out on the road to challenge the Deer Park Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Healthy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mt. Healthy's offense. They came up short against Roger Bacon on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Mt. Healthy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Roger Bacon are ranked 280th).

Meanwhile, Deer Park also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 9-0 to Indian Hill on Tuesday. Deer Park have struggled against Indian Hill recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Mt. Healthy's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Deer Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Mt. Healthy might still be hurting after the 5-2 loss they got from Deer Park in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. Can the Fighting Owls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
