On Friday Winchester will have to hit the road after three straight games at home. They will challenge the Andover Golden Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Andover took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Winchester, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Winchester made easy work of Belmont and carried off a 3-0 win.
Winchester was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Andover unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Billerica Memorial. While the Golden Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-22 in the first set.
Andover started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.
Andover's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kate Hillson, who had 17 digs.
Even though they lost, Andover was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 12 consecutive matchups.
