Volleyball Game Preview: Meridian Mustangs vs. High Plains Storm

Meridian is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will square off against the High Plains Storm at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Meridian came up short against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meridian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, High Plains also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Osceola by a score of 3-1.

While High Plains ultimately came up short, they really made Osceola work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Meridian now has a losing record of 13-14. As for High Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Meridian couldn't quite get it done against High Plains in their previous matchup on Tuesday as they fell 2-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
