After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Stafford finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 8-2 to the Almeta Crawford Chargers. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Stafford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Brown has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Stafford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Almeta Crawford, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-3-3.

While Stafford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
