The Point Loma Pointers will take on the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games Point Loma has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Point Loma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They beat San Dimas by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4.
Point Loma got a great performance from Landon Moore as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, Moore posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Michael Hall was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Phoenix Brant was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Eastlake typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Rancho Bernardo proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Titans. The Broncos have beaten the Titans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titans has come to flipping the script.
Caden Dockan looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayden Bess, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jr. Gonzales, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Rancho Bernardo's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-13. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Point Loma, their win bumped their record up to 22-12-1.
