Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Reagan Swafford and Madison Henderson

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 56-36 to the Pendleton Bulldogs. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 60-33 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Liberty had strong showings from Madison Henderson, who posted seven points and 16 rebounds, and Reagan Swafford, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Swafford continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. This was only their eighth loss (out of nine games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Pendleton, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge High Point Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pendleton, they will face off against Walhalla at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
