Recap: Franklin Road Christian Minutemen vs. Franklin Christian Academy Falcons
After a string of eight wins, the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 62-47 fall against Franklin Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Franklin Road Christian has scored all season.
Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Pence, who scored 18 points. That was a full 38.3% of Franklin Road Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Walker, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Franklin Road Christian's defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Franklin Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
Franklin Road Christian will play host again and welcome Zion Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Zion Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Franklin Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Knowledge Academies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knowledge Academies has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
