Softball Game Preview: Marriotts Ridge Mustangs vs. Howard Lions

Marriotts Ridge hasn't had much luck against Howard recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Lions at 4:15 p.m. Howard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marriotts Ridge, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Marriotts Ridge earned a 6-2 victory over Westminster. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Howard came up short against Mt. Hebron on Thursday and fell 9-6. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Hadley Coleman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Beers, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Marriotts Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Marriotts Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Howard in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 6-3. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
